Sitting on my own! And talking to myself....

This was her second time sitting on her own, the night before we were at a friend's house and my sister-in-law had her on the couch taking pictures, when I realized she was sitting on her own, not leaning on the couch. So, I tried it the next day at the house with some protection around her, as you can see and she did it! Yeah!

She wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but got the hang of it soon enough.

And in the end, she had a blast being able to play with her toys and look at me and all around at the same time. When she's on her tummy, she's always break her neck to look up and around her.

I stepped away for a bit to do something and the next thing I heard was her just talking away to herself in the mirror and I just had to get it on video, she was cracking me up!

First real food!! and a cute family pic

Here she is in her Bumbo on the table in her usual spot, but this time instead of just watching mommy and daddy eat all the fun, colorful things on the table - I decided a carrot stick can't do much harm, especially this size! It was great, the carrot was a great teething toy and boy did we get some great faces - unfortunately we didn't get the camera fast enough for those.
This is a great video, I hope she likes veggies this much when she gets older too!

We went to visit Costas and Jenny and there was the most incredible sunset, we just had to take advantage of it. The wind was blowing like crazy, but it was well worth it in the end and baby Kel posed for every single picture, what a champ! Costas and Jen got way better pictures than these, but we haven't gotten them yet.

Sling Mishap

We have a very curious baby, she is always looking around at all the noises and colors and she will go to extreme lengths to see whatever it is she wants to see. So, yesterday I was vacuuming the house and she just wanted to be held, so I thought hey this is a great time to put her in the sling on my back (I hadn't tried it before). So, I hopped on Kim's website (http://www.biddleybunsslings.com/) and found out how to get her on my back. Awesome, we were set. She was tightly snug as I made sure she wasn't going anywhere. But as soon as I started the vacuum I felt her wiggling and wiggling and the next thing I know I accidently bumped her head with my elbow as I was vacuuming - my little squidge had gone from being vertical with the floor to being horizontal! I tried to fix it and put her back, but she just kept trying to reach out and touch the vacuum cleaner. I was laughing so hard, I just had to get a picture and post it.

This was a shot in the mirror, so you could actually see that she had completely turned her entire body in the sling to see the vacuum!

This is what she was supposed to look like and how she started out, so hopefully we don't run into anything really cool on the ground when we go out like this....... :)

Sleeping and cute little Hawaiian dress

I don't know why I find such joy in taking pictures of baby sleeping all the time, she's just so cute! Babis keeps telling me to stop cause the flash will wake her up, but is that such a bad thing??? It's her little cheeks that get all squished maybe....

Or maybe is becuase other times, we put the binki in her mouth and bam...5 seconds later she's out for the night. Sweet, that made my job easy for the night. :)

She sleeps with her head in her arm too or like this. She just so cute, like a little grown up person. I really should get a video of her when she looses her binki at night, that is truly funny.

Ok, I had to thrown in a picture of this cute little Hawaiian dress that Aunty Dudee sent. Hopefully she'll learn how to dance beautifully just like her Tutu.

Growing up

We went out one day a couple weeks ago so Kani and Poli could get their hair cut and we found this great little playground, so Kel took her first swing ride with Daddy! She didn't really know what was going on and this picturewas more for us and her later when she's old enough to realize what a swing is. :) It's finally starting to get cold, so I'm getting to put all her cold weather clothes on now, so cute. Someone gave us this little coat - it has red and pink apples all over it, so adorable!

This is her new funny face, hilarious! Sometimes it looks like she's going to cry, but she's just making her face like this, it's great. It's amazing watching her grow everyday and all the new things she finds to investigate, play with and put in her mouth of course. She is actually starting to teeth, so everything goes in her mouth. Babis had his first tooth at 5 months, so I think she won't be far behind......

She also loves to play at her changing table cause it's right in front of the mirror and we've hung her Baby Einstien mobile above it, she could be there all day absolutely entertained by herself in the mirror and the cute little fuzzy animal haning above her.

This is the crib we finally settled on, seriously way too many choices for one person to make when it comes to baby stuff. This one is a bit on the small side, but by the time she's moved out (hopefully) it won't stay empty for long. We were going to get a bigger one that was just adorable, but it changed into a child's bed and really there is no point when we'll need the crib again and for 4 times the amount of money, we chose this one. Since we have all tiled floors and carpets haven't quite made it here yet, or something like that this will be a great play time area for her - for now. Give her a few months and she'll be running around the house....

So, this is what a Greek/Portuguese/sounds like????

Really, we just can't get over how much she talks sometimes. I watch her now and she is so attentive to what I say and, she is very intent on watching people talk - it's so amazing. Lovin' being a mom and I know Babis is lovin' being a Dad, it's these moments that we will always look back on.

My middle name & other fun things

This last month has been filled with lots of fun things: grocery shopping, visiting friends, Mommy's Bible study, Worship events, hanging out with Uncle Kani and Uncle Poli, going to IKEA, going to a home expo, physical therapy. Time is flying by and baby Kel is growing up so fast. She is sucking her fingers and her thumb now, standing and sitting with help and 'swims' when I put her on her opu (tummy) to play. She really is such a happy baby and so easy going. I know that this is because of all the praying that was done for her before she was even born! Thank you everyone for praying for our little one and our family, the Lord has truly blessed us.
Last week Thursday we went to officially announce her birth and register her name here in Athens so we can get a birth certificate for her. Her full name is:
Kela Makanamakamaeokamaluhia Tagaroulias.
The Lord had really laid 'peace' on my heart after Kel passed away and the months after when I really was stuggling. When we started talking about names we were exploring the possibility of what names that would be in Hawaiian and thanks to Aunty Maka, we came up with a few options. So, in the end we chose "precious gift of peace" - makanamakamaeokamaluhia. So, here are just a few shots of our precious gift of peace over the last month, enjoy!
Last Saturday we went out to lunch at Costas and Jenny's restaurant to meet up with the team that went to China with Babis this summer and we just couldn't resist these legs! She was so hot, and we just had to get a shot of these little cuties. :)

She has started sleeping with her head on her arm(s) lately and it is just so cute. Our little girl is growing up so fast.

Just a quick shot with Daddy just before bath time!

Hey, what you lookin' at Willis? Ha,ha,ha. She sure does love her lamby and she was gaurding it with her life that day!

I don't know what it is about babies, but we just can't stop looking at her.
